 BACKGROUND OF THE ASSIGNMENT

 UNODC is implementing a large-scale project funded by the European Union under the 10^thEuropean Development Fund (EDF) modality, Project NGAV16 – “Response on Drugs and Related Organized Crime in Nigeria”, which aims at supporting Nigeria’s efforts in fighting drug production, trafficking and use, and in curbing related organized crime, including counterfeit narcotics and psychotropic substances. The project proposes a balanced approach to drug control, with equal attention paid to drug interdiction and drug demand reduction, including drugs prevention, treatment and care (DPTC).

Output 3.5 of the project is to provide “direct support to civil society organizations networks working on drug prevention, treatment and care”. In order to contribute to the achievement of this Output and to meet the gaps in understanding on drug issues, UNODC is proposing to sub-contract CSOs to carry out of activities on sensitization on drug use, and drug prevention, treatment and care to various target populations in the general population and among law enforcement in Nigeria.

In this regards, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria on behalf of UNODC invites proposals from competent and qualified non-governmental organizations/firms to participate in “Call for Proposal (CFP)” for the CSO Engagement.

 All bids must be submitted through the e-tendering https://etendering.partneragencies.orgin the format specified in the solicitation documents and clearly marked using the titles indicated above.

 Please note that UNDP is exempt from all customs, duty and taxes and can provide documentation for same. UNDP reserves the right to reject any or all bids sent to this Request for Proposal and reserves the right to split awards for any of the items and place separate or multiple orders.

 Any award resulting from this RFP will be subject to UNDP General Terms and Conditions available at the UNDP Global Website www.undp.org.

 This CFP does not amount to a commitment on the part of the UNDP either financially or otherwise.
